Kristi from George and Ginger Patterns just released the RuLo and this on-trend boho pattern is a winner. “The RuLo is packed with amazing options! Choose from oversized dolman and regular crop, top, tunic and dress styles…and single tier bell, double tier bell, triple tier bell, full bell and basic sleeves! With added features like ties and shoulder ruffles, you can mix and match your favorites for endless possibilities! ”
As soon as I had a chance, I tried the oversized Dolman option and it is casual festival wear fabulous…or at least it makes me feel like I could wear this to a festival, even though I am probably just going to be sitting at home drinking coffee and homeschooling.
I have no idea what this fabric is or where it came from, so don’t ask. LOL. But it is some kind of crepe jersey ( I may be inventing terms here, but I swear I have heard of that) The pattern suggests ” 2-way sweater knit with drape and at least 50% stretch” and this does have 2-way stretch, so I’ve got to be close.
I kept this dolman true to my measured size for the sake of testing, in the future I will probably size down, even though the intended fit for the dolman is oversized. I think this is just a bit bigger than intended. Selecting patterns for my bust size always yields too large results as my bust measurement is larger than is standard for my upper bust/ shoulder measurements.
But I will totally be wearing this one extra-oversized.
I also made two other RuLos because I LOVE this pattern so much. You can find info on my dress here and my stretch mesh top (is coming)
For the detail oriented seamstresses out there: I graded between sized 14 and 16 (My
current measurements are 36 Overbust, 41 Bust, 33 High Waist, 41 hips) and did my standard height adjustments to account for my 5′-2″ frame as the pattern is drafted for 5′–6″.
Hurry and grab the RuLo on sale through 1/26/2018 ONLY (although with all the options it is still a bargain at full price)
I’d love if you would stay tuned here, or follow me on IG @clothed.in.vermillion to check-out all the Wiggles I have sewn for my closet!
